Ticket holders 0001-0100 will get a free Komikon loot bag to be claimed on April 13, 2013 before 5pm at the Komikon booth. Unclaimed bags after 5pm are forfeit.

As we are kids-themed this time, we have a 'Free Until 12 for Under 12'! That means that all children under 12 yrs old (valid Elementary school ID as proof) get to enter for free if they arrive before 12 noon!

Afterwards, it will be a Php 100 for 2 children's tickets. (If there are 1 kid & 1 adult, that would still be 200). Valid only for tickets bought on April 13. (Child must be present).

Pre-sold tickets are all Php 100 each.

CHARACTER MAKING CONTEST - SUMMER KOMIKON 2013

This year's theme is: BATA ANG BIDA!
Create your own Kid Superhero

   * Contest is open to all comic book artists except for professionals with published works sold in bookstores.
   * Create an original Kid Superhero. Character should be 12 years old and below.
   * Write a short write up including name, powers, and short background story of character.
   * Entries can be digitally of traditionally rendered.
   * Entries are to be submitted online with a canvass size of 8 1/2 x 11 (letter size) and having the resolution of 150 – 300dpi. E-mail entries to contests[@]komikon.org with the subject: "SUMMER KOMIKON 2013: Character Making Contest". Only e-mail entries are accepted.

This year's theme is:  FABLES
Create a comic book for kids based on an adaptation or an originally written fable.  
A SHORT TALE TO TEACH A MORAL LESSON, OFTEN WITH ANIMALS OR INANIMATE OBJECTS AS CHARACTERS


Rules:
 Contest is open to all comic book artists except for professionals with published works sold in bookstores.
 Contestants / groups are limited to only one entry.
 Entries submitted by groups are required to submit the names of the individuals involved in creating the indie. Group entries with professionals on board are automatically disqualified.
 Entries should adhere to the given theme. Entries deviating from the theme shall be automatically disqualified.

 8.5″ X 6.5″ (long bond paper, folded, and stapled twice in the middle)
 Entries should be placed in a short brown envelope with their name, address, phone number, and e-mail written legibly at the upper left hand corner.
 Stories must be 4 to 12 pages long (excluding cover)
 Please note that entries are non-returnable. Entries should be reproductions only. (originals will not be returned)
 Colored and/or black and white entries are accepted.
 There are no restrictions as to the art style that can be used as long as the comic book follows the given theme.
 The story should be in the form of a one-shot title. It should be whole in itself, with a clear beginning, middle, and end. Multiple comic stories in a single entry (anthology) will not be allowed.
 The comic can be written in Tagalog or English

Komikon Inc. brings you another comics overloaded event! Come to the KOMIKON INDIEKET on July 14, 2012 at the Hall A of the Bayanihan Center, Unilab Center in Pasig City from 10am – 7pm. This Independent Comics Market is a must to those who wish to join the October 2012 KOMIKON as Indie Tiangge sellers.

What is KOMIKON INDIEKET?

Komikon Indieket, the 1st Komikon Grand Independent Komiks Market will determine the independent groups and individuals that will make up the Komikon 2012 Indie Komiks Tiangge participants for this coming October 2012. Komikon will allow all qualified registrants to sell at the Indieket event on June 14 at Bayanihan Center. Only Indieket participants will be eligible for the 30 Indie Tiangge Slots for Komikon 2012. To determine what group or which individual will get the Indie Tiangge Slot we offer the following objectives.

Slots 1-10: Top 10 Indie Best Sellers are automatically in. This will be determined like the regular Komikon Indie Tiangge thru the 10% collection done before the end of the event.
Slots 11-15: Top 5 Ticket Sellers are automatically in. Groups and/or individual participants have the option to sell tickets for the Indieket event. In the event that one of the top 5 ticket sellers is part also of the top 10 Indie Best Seller, that individual or group will only get 1 slot and the remaining free slot would go to the succeeding Indie Best Seller after the top 10.
Slots 16-30: The next 15 slots will be determined thru a raffle draw which will be conducted before the event ends.
Komikon Indieket will also hold its own special awards for the participating Indie sellers. The awards include:

Best Independent Title
Best Cover
Best Promotion (online)
Best Booth Display (on site)
Most Promising New Creator
Best Independent Creator
Out of the Box Award
Interested independent comic creators can register from June 4 to 18 by filling out the online registration over at the Indieket Registration Details.

In line with the Summer Komikon on May 26, 2012, Komikon, Flipreads, and Flipside Publishing are proud to present a 24-hour comic competition entitled Komixathon. The event will be held on May 19, 2012 and three winners will be chosen from the participants, in addition to a reader's choice award. The winners will be announced during Komikon and awarded a publishing contract from Flipside Publishing.

Registration will take place on April 25, 2012 to May 16, 2012. Komixathon itself will be held between noon of May 19, 2012 to noon of May 20, 2012. Registered users will receive a username and password which will allow them to upload their comics to Flipside's servers during those two days. Interested participants can email adam@flipside.ph to register.

A 24-hour comic book is a comic book-creation constraint pioneered by Scott McCloud and Steve Bissette, where a comic book is written, drawn, and published in the span of only twenty-four hours.
